The French-Japanese Cultural Club from Marseille

The French-Japanese Cultural Club from Marseille (Association Culturelle Franco-Japonaise de Marseille) started 20 years ago and is aimed at helping the exchanges between French and Japanese cultures.

The club at Japan Expo Sud

Every day, the Club will be on their booth for workshops and presentations of the different arts of Japanese culture, such as initiation to Japanese, Ikebana (floral art), calligraphy and Chadô (Tea Ceremony). The passionate members of the Club will share with you one of the most beautiful side of Japanese culture.

On the main stage of the festival you will see an exceptional representation of Kimono as well as to a dancing show to the sound of traditional music.

The Club’s teaching

Japanese lessons Starting at the beginning of October and finishing in late June, there are 45 hours of class divided in 30 lessons. They are taught by graduate Japanese. The teaching is about writing (Hiragana and Katakana), ideograms or Kanji, grammar and conversation.

Ikebana lessons Ikebana is a floral art, the Japanese word meaning giving life back to flowers. It is in a very serene atmosphere that the flowers are aesthetically arranged. Ikebana is mostly practiced as a way to relax in Japan.

Japanese cooking It is above all, even before a trip for the taste, a work of art where shapes and colors are harmoniously balanced and that are an enchantment for the sight before the taste. Learn how to cook Nori-maki, Sushi and other traditional Japanese meals.

Meet the French-Japanese Cultural Club from Marseille everyday on their booth and for exceptional representation on the Main Stage of the festival
