Okinawa Kobudô with the club Budo Provence
Little known in France, Kobudô is an original and centuries old martial art!
Presentation
Kobudô is a martial art from Okinawa, an island in the South of Japan. It means "ancient martial art" but also "Art of spiritual behaviour to fighting".Using many different weapons, it is based upon ancient arms techniques which were used by fishermen and peasants to fight back Japanese invaders during the 17th century.
These techniques reached us thanks to Master Shinko MATAYOSHI and his son Shinpo and were introduced in France by Master Kenyu CHINEN.
Traditionally Okinawa Kobudô uses 28 different weapons, some which are used more often, like the Nunchaku or the Tonfa.
The club Budo Provence proposes classes for adults and teenagers of any level in Marseille.
Okinawa Kobudô will propose initiations and demonstrations in the Martial Art Space during the whole festival!
