The exhibit dedicated to Yumiko IGARASHI is inviting you to (re)discover the world of the artist and her kawaii heroines, such as Mayme Angel or Georgie. On a 36 sqm wide area, enjoy many illustrations chosen by the publisher isan manga.

Yumiko IGARASHI
A few years after she started her career as a mangaka, Yumiko IGARASHI was entrusted with drawing the character of Candy, with a script written by Kyoko MIZUKI. It was a huge success: a whole generation of young girls identified with the manga heroine!
In 1977, she received Kodansha’s first Manga Award, created on this occasion. Many more manga came next in the kawaii style, such as Mayme Angel and Georgie, but also in other varied styles – history manga, novel adaptations, etc. Some of her work has been published by isan manga in France.
This exhibit is organized in partnership with isan manga.
