Early years
Born in 1978 in Yokohama, Yûsuke KOZAKI grew up in Chiba. As he was studying to be an astronomer, he discovered the works of Akira TORIYAMA (Dr. Slump, Dragon Ball) and Fujiko FUJIO (Doraemon), which opened his eyes: he would become a Mangaka!
His beginning as a Mangaka
In 1997, he got the prize of honor of Manga young talent of the 215th edition of the contest organized by Young Magazine, and then the 40th Chiba Tetsuya Award. His first short story is then published: Mikakunin higôshôjo Kaoru, in Young Magazine.
In 2002, he is presented at the Festival international de la BD d’Angoulême (international BD festival in Angoulême) where an exhibition presents the BD young talents worldwide. The same year his first long series is prepublished in the magazine B-Street: Kyôko Karasuma.
An eclectic career
In 2005, he is spotted for his talent as a chara-designer for his work on the Anime Speed Grapher. He also starts the prepublication of a Manga in color, Tôkyô Karasu. A year later, the Sunrise studio entrusted him with the chara-design of the Anime Irohanihoheto.

Towards video games
Yûsuke KOZAKI started in video game with titles such as Osu! Tatakae! Oendan, a rhythm game in which the player has to follow a band of Japanese cheerleaders.
He then worked in different universes with Treasure Strike: Fullswing or the famous Lord of Vermilion, an arcade-game based on trading cards where the player is immerged in a fantastic world.
In 2007, he keeps on rising with the character of the hitman Travis Touchdown in No More Heroes and, two years later, works as a chara-designer on the sequel of the game, No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle.
Back in France, Yûsuke KOZAKI will meet his fans at Japan Expo Sud!
