Biography

Reno LEMAIRE is young French artist. He’s been wanting to draw comics forever. He discovered manga quite late but got very interested: the style, the dynamics, the format made him wish to do manga himself.

As a reader of Shônen Collection, he proposed a project to the publisher Pika Édition in 2004, and started being pre-published in 2005. Reno finds inspiration in video games, American comics and a few French and Belgian authors. Dreamland is his first published work.

Reno LEMAIRE has also launched a collection of products and goodies related to the series: the Dreamlandshop.

Meet Reno LEMAIRE all 3 days of the festival for a panel and signings. He’ll be accompanied by his assistant Salim KAFIZ.

Dreamland

Imagine that when you fall asleep, your mind leaves and wanders in a boundless, fantastic world, where anything can happen... This world is Dreamland, where peaceful inhabitants and evil creatures, "dreamers" with strong wishes and "travelers" with powers get together...

Terrence is afraid of fire wince his mother was killed in a fire when he was 7. As the only one controlling fire and being free from any master, he decided when he first got to Dreamland that he would save people’s dreams. Soon he gave up this noble mission when he learned about an unknown land called Edenia, where the souls of the dead find shelter. Then, he started looking for this legendary place to try and find his mother, taking along with him Savane, Sabba, and Ève, his traveler friends... It will be a long and difficult quest, full of surprises!

As more volumes were published, Reno LEMAIRE developped his characters, keeping the shônen spirit of his story alive. The heroes have grown up, graduated (well, almost all of them!), but are still looking for Edenia in Dreamland.
