Pao Pi is a musician, composer, and improviser, a nomadic and eclectic music creator who plays the shinobue.
Shinobue are small flute made of bamboo and are lacquered inside. It has seven holes. It is used in music such as minyo, and in kabuki and nô theatre.

Listen to shinobue at Pao Pi’s solo performances on the Sakura stage on Friday and Sunday. His show Cri d’un Yokai (the scream of a yokai) mixes traditions, compositions, and improvisations. He will also be playing some of his latest creation: Boru No Dansu (the dance of the bowl).
