The association

Since 2004, Amitiés franco-japonaises (AFJ, French-Japanese friendship) takes part in many events about Japan and its culture. Organizing many contests, games and workshops, the association got famous locally to a wide audience, promoting Japanese traditions, arts and culture.

They organize many activities and events such as:

  • thematic days with screenings, contests (Bento, Cosplay, drawing...), initiations (Origami, Sumi-e, Manga drawing, Cosplay), video games, Karaoke
  • conferences and debates
  • events to present products from Japan

Origami, Furoshiki, Kirigami and more

AFJ is back at Japan Expo Sud to propose the activities which were so successful last year, as well as some new ones:

  • try Origami, the art of paper folding
  • have a go at the art of cutting paper, called Kirigami, a variation of Origami which brings together cutting and folding
  • discover Furoshiki, a traditional technique of wrapping cloth to carry all kinds of objects
  • set free the artist in you on the drawing area: the best works will be rewarded
  • become a real Ninja by launching Shuriken
