Japan Expo Sud: a journey through traditional Japan
Attractive, seducing, intriguing sometimes, Japanese culture unveils at Japan Expo Sud, with its traditions, customs, and artists. Let’s start the journey!
From its debut, Japan Expo Sud has always been striving to show Japanese culture and traditions to the attendees.
You’ve always dreamed of making an origami crane? of attending a tea ceremony? of learning how to play go or shôgi? of taking a stroll in a Japanese garden? You’re wondering what ikebana, yukata, or furoshiki mean? The cultural area at Japan Expo Sud is the right place for you: many participants are proposing demonstrations, initiations and discovery sessions.
Along your journey, don’t forget to stop at the stage dedicated to traditional shows: discover the music of traditional instruments such as taiko, koto or shakuhachi, discover the world of geisha at panels, or enjoy folk shows such as shishi odori or yosakoi.
To have all the information about our traditional program, keep on following us regularly until the festival opening (need a reminder? Japan Expo Sud will be held on February 19-21, 2016 at Marseille Chanot and tickets are on sale).
