OCHAYA tea booth (K018, hall 3) is the meeting place of tea lovers and shares their passion for the art of tea.
With time, the team of OCHAYA tea created a network of partners, on site with producers from Japan and other countries. Today, the brand proposes a meticulous selection of tea from Japan and other Asian countries to the European market. At Japan Expo Sud, they will unveil exclusive new tea types from 2017’s harvest in Japan and China.
Tea is also about preparation and ceremony. OCHAYA works with craftsmen and -women and imports rare items related to tea: matcha bowls, Tokoname stoneware teapots, and refined cups.
Matcha will also be under the spotlight. Harumi SUGIURA and Nicolas ESPINASSE, the founders of OCHAYA, have written a book about the precious ceremony green tea ans they will be sharing advice and showing items related to this ancient rite.
