Get carried away by Suzume
Suzume will release in theaters on April 12! Let yourself be transported across Japan in the latest film by Your Name director Makoto Shinkai.
Next Wednesday, Suzume will release in French theaters. It's the latest movie by director Makoto Shinkai known for one of the biggest successes of the Japanese box office, Your Name. Half road movie, half human drama, get ready to live a fantastic adventure that will take you all over Japan.
The film follows Suzume, a 17-year-old high school girl who meets a mysterious man. While following him, she discovers a worn-out door in the middle of ruins. Unable to stop herself from opening it, she causes other doors to spread across Japan, letting the natural disasters they contain escape. The man is formal: any open door must be closed. Thus begins the journey of Suzume and Sôta, which will lead them to travel all over the country to prevent disasters.
Suzume is a movie that will satisfy anyone who liked Your Name or Weathering with You and their fantastic elements while offering a story that reminds the director's first films, such as Children Who Chase Lost Voices, which Makoto Shinkai came to present at Japan Expo in 2012.
