Presentation

Taiko, or wadaiko – Japanese traditional drums – is powerful and stirring. This instrument dates back to the 6th century. The instrument was used for religious rituals, before it accompanied and kabuki theatres. Taiko is also used during fishing or agriculture festivals. Around 1960, it was put up to date, blending ancient and new music.
