Profile

ROA is a Japanese rock band created by drummer Akaba, who's also a member of SNAIL RAMP, leader of the Japanese melodic hardcore and skacore scene (n° 1 of the weekly Oricon charts). Launched in Tokyo in April 2015, ROA adopted the concept of Wayo Settyu, a style halfway between Japanese and Western. Their music is a blend of rock and tsugaru shamisen, a traditional Japanese instrument.

This style, mixed up with original lyrics, has seduced many fans with the music video for their title JAIRO.M, launching their success. The video had been viewed 20,000 times within two days and since then, the number has kept on increasing. It spread around the world by word of mouth and aired on the music TV channel Rock on MTV.

The band has played to full houses for every 13 gigs they held in Tokyo and Fukuoka. In October 2015, their first mini-album, KALACREATION, was released. In early 2017, they went on a tour to prepare the coming of their first full album, OOPARTS, in April. They also appeared in the popular Japanese music TV show Buzz Rhythm.

Let yourself get carried away by ROA’s energy and powerful mix of rock and tsugaru shamisen! They will be attending Japan Expo Sud all three days, meeting you at signings, and taking your breath away at their showcase
