Introduction
Ikebana, the way of flowers, is a Japanese traditional art based on flower arrangement.
Contrary to Western flower arrangement, ikebana highlights the lines in the arrangement, and flowers are as important as the vase, the branches and the stalks. This art follows precise rules and symbols from Buddhism.
At Japan Expo Sud
On stage, the Consulate General of Japan in Marseille is showing you a demonstration of traditional Japanese flower arrangement.
Ikebana examples will also be presented in an exhibit.
