Julien Cortey is a French illustrator whose work you may have seen on major animation titles such as One Piece, Wakfu and, more recently, Arcane!
After studying at the Georges Méliès school, Julien Cortey began his career with a fanime from the Nier Automata universe, which opened the doors to the professional world with his first work for a Japanese game trailer. He was then spotted by the Pierrot studio, with whom he worked on Boruto. Building on this initial success, he also worked on My Hero Academia and One Piece, more specifically on the Wano arc.
In 2024, he collaborated with Julien Cortey to create the trailer for Inoxtag’s manga Instinct.
