Toshinari Shinohe
Toshinari Shinohe is the author and original creator of the Child of the Kamiari Month project, and he is here to present the Beast of the Kamisari Month.
Japanese creator and producer Toshinari Shinohe was born in 1980 in Chiba Prefecture. He founded Cretica Universal.LLP in 2009. He has been involved in directing premium campaigns for major film productions such as Cinderella and Godzilla, as well as numerous national collaborative projects in Japan, including Little Prince in Toyota, and is collaborating with the city of Kurashiki for the release of the film Hirune hime, Daydreams x Kurashiki.
He also contributed to the launch of several film festivals, including the Toyota Anime Cinema Festival.
For the film Child of the Kamiari Month, he served as original designer, screenwriter, and communications supervisor. Upon its national release, the film was selected and nominated for several international festivals and awards in 2021, including the Hochi Film Award in the animation category, the Location Japan Award, and the Montreal International Film Festival.
In 2022, the film was released worldwide on Netflix, reaching 1.61 million viewers in its first week and ranking 8th in the global Top 10.
In 2025, when Child of the Kamiari Month had accumulated more than 4.5 million viewers, he took part in a presentation on stage at Japan Expo Paris in Osaka, where he announced his next animated feature film, Beast of the Kamisari Beast, which he is now presenting to us in Marseille.
