Tribute to Goldorak
A four-person round table discussion to retrace the history of Goldorak and its arrival in France, its success, its creator, and the merchandise created afterwards.
To mark the 50th anniversary of Goldorak, a round table discussion about the hero of light and steel offers a look back at the phenomenon.
The series had a huge impact in France, the first country outside Japan to broadcast it. A true cultural phenomenon in the late 1970s, Goldorak left its mark on an entire generation and paved the way for Japanese animation on French television.
Over the decades, the series has become a symbol of nostalgia, but also an object of study and artistic reinterpretation. 50 years of a new relationship between France and Japan with Goldorak, a retrospective on half a century of influence, between collective memory, transformations in the way manga is viewed, and renewed interest in this cult work.
