Nobuyoshi HABARA, a 30 year-long career in animation
Japan Expo Sud is unveiling its first anime guest: from Machine Robo: Revenge of Cronos to Broken Blade and D.N.Angel, Nobuyoshi HABARA has worked on dozens anime and he’ll be sharing his passion for animation with you at the festival, with panels and signings!
As a kid, Nobuyoshi HABARA already wanted to become an animator. After a few independent anime he made in high school, he made his dream come true in the 80s. As time went by, his talent got more varied and he had several jobs: animator, chara-designer, director, animation director, or storyboarder, until he became the head of the animation department and co-founder of studio XEBEC.
A fan of science fiction and robots, he is also a mecha-designer, on Dancouga – Super Beast Machine God, Mobile Suit Z Gundam, Machine Robo: Revenge of Cronos, in his early career, and then Gekiganger 3 or Space Battleship Yamato 2199. He worked on various themes, like football with Ashita e Free Kick, or others with Broken Blade or Negima! Magister Negi Magi.
